Colorado Cold Rush Ultra
The Colorado Cold Rush Ultra is a winter running event that takes place near Colorado Springs, Colorado. The event features three distance options: a 50k, a Half Marathon, and a 10k.
Distances:
- 50k: An out-and-back course starting at Bear Creek Regional Park. It climbs historic High Drive, continues on Gold Camp Road, and turns around at the intersection of Gold Camp and Old Stage Road.
- Half Marathon: An out-and-back course that goes up and over historic High Drive.
- 10k: Explores lower elevation sections of the route on 100% dirt trails, with slightly technical footing on the out-and-back section.
The courses run along historic High Drive and through tunnels associated with the Colorado gold rush. They feature diverse terrain and views of Colorado Springs. The 50k has an elevation gain of about 5,500 feet, ranging from 6,175 to 9,090 feet.
Registration includes a gender-specific race shirt, a BOCO Performance beanie, a personalized bib, a finisher's award, access to stocked aid stations, and a post-race meal. Aid stations offer Tailwind nutrition, Muir Energy gels, snacks, fruit, and soda. The Cheyenne Cañon aid station also serves warm food like bacon, quesadillas, and potatoes.
