Courses and logistics

All races use trails around Bear Creek Regional Park and historic High Drive. The 50k is an out-and-back that begins at Bear Creek Regional Park, climbs High Drive, continues on Gold Camp Road, and turns around near the intersection of Gold Camp Road and Old Stage Road. Elevation range for the 50k is 6,175′ to 9,090′ with about 5,500′ of elevation gain. The Half Marathon is an out-and-back over the top of historic High Drive with about 2,847′ elevation gain. The 10k follows lower-elevation sections of the course, is 100% dirt trail, and has slight technical footing on the out-and-back; its listed elevation gain is about 912′.

Aid stations are staged along each course; several are crew accessible and some accept drop bags. The event lists Tailwind and Muir Energy Gels, snacks, fruit and soda at aid stations, with additional warm food at the Cheyenne Cañon aid station. Pack pickup locations include Colorado Running Company and Bear Creek Regional Park pavilion. Bear Creek Regional Park has on-site parking with attendants and signage. The Gold Stage access road is described as winding, narrow and washboarded; 4WD is recommended for that road. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
