Cirque Series - Jay Peak

The Cirque Series race at Jay Peak, Vermont on Sept 26, 2026 covers 7.1 miles with roughly 3,044 ft of vertical gain. The event is capped at 500 runners and the course lies within Jay State Forest.

The route begins at Tramside beside the tram dock and follows a sequence of climbs, traverses, and descents that use ski runs, service roads, and single track. Key segments named on course include Interstate, Perry Merrill Ave, Stateside, Chalet Meadows, Sweetheart, Paradise Meadows, Jet, Hotshot Derrick, Montrealer, Angel’s Wiggle, Taxi Trail, Goat Run, Upper River Quai, Northway, Green Beret, Vermonter, and the Long Trail ridge to the Jay Peak summit. The Long Trail summit ridge contains a No Passing Zone for about 0.15 miles. The descent sequence includes Sis Boom Bah, Ullr’s Dream, Wedelmaster, JFK, Kokomo, and a return to Tramside.

The summit ridge is described as a technical rocky section that can be wet and slippery. The course is marked with orange flagging and participants are required to follow the flagged route for safety. If a runner encounters an injured competitor they should inform the nearest course marshal, EMT, Jay Peak Patrol, or rescue services. There is a strict summit cutoff of 2:00 hours; competitors who do not meet the cutoff will use the tram to descend. Cutoff times and the course may be adjusted by organizers.

Each competitor receives a snapback, giveaway ticket, logoed bib, medal, a sponsor swag bag, and free professional photos. Early bib pick up is available the day before and race day packet collection is at Tramside. Awards, a vendor village, and a postrace gathering are part of the event schedule.
