Cirque Series - Jay Peak, VT

The Cirque Series - Jay Peak takes place at Jay Peak Resort in Vermont. This mountain running event features a course approximately 7.1 miles long with a total vertical gain of 3,044 feet. The route begins at Tramside and utilizes various ski trails and mountain terrain, reaching the summit of Jay Peak.

Participants can register for one of three divisions:

  • Sport Division: Intended for those with less mountain experience.
  • Expert Division: For experienced mountain runners and strong hikers.
  • Pro Division: Reserved for professional and sponsored athletes.

The course landscape includes steep, rocky, and grassy sections. The final approach to the summit involves a technical rocky ridge that may be wet or slippery. A specific 0.15 mile segment on the Long Trail near the summit is designated as a no-passing zone. Additionally, a strict two-hour cut-off time is enforced at the Jay Peak summit for all competitors; those who do not reach the summit within this window must return to the base via the tram.

Hydration stations providing Skratch products are located at two points along the course and at the finish line. The event uses competitive timing with disposable chips attached to the back of the race bibs. Registration is limited to a maximum of 500 entries. Prizes are awarded for top finishers in each division, alongside special recognitions like the Grom Award for the youngest competitor and the OG Award for the wisest competitor.
