The course starts at Tramside beside the tram dock and follows a sequence of ski runs, service roads, and single-track trail. There is a strict summit cut-off time of 2:00 hrs after which competitors will take the tram back down; this cutoff may be adjusted the week of the race. A no passing zone applies on the Long Trail summit ridge for 0.15 miles. If an injured competitor is encountered, inform the nearest course marshal, EMT, Jay Peak Patrol, or rescue services.

Bib pick-up is available the day before and on race day. The event includes a vendor village, post-race awards and giveaways, an evening after party, and lodging options at Jay Peak hotels.
