Course and logistics

The courses run through Joaquin Miller and Redwood Regional parks, using Sequoia-Bayview and French trails and finishing on the technical Cinderella trail. Distances were measured with a Rolatape surveyor's measuring wheel. Course marking uses colored ribbon about every 200 yards, polka-dot flagging for turns, and blue ribbons to mark wrong-way junctions. Color coding: Yellow Loop for 8K, Pink Loop for Half Marathon, 30K is Pink + Yellow, Marathon is Pink twice, and 50K is Marathon + 5 miles.

Aid stations are fully stocked every 3 to 6 miles with fruit, salty snacks, candy, water, and Skratch drink. Runners are recommended to carry at least 20 oz. of water between aid stations. The event is cupless; participants should bring their own fluid container. Drop bags are allowed for 30K, Marathon, and 50K. Parking is free. T-shirts are given to pre-registered runners; to guarantee a shirt, register at least 10 business days before the event. Time limits: Marathon 8 hr 45 min, 50K 9 hr, all events 9 hr.
