Quest of the White Wolf takes place at Lake Lure, NC and offers multiple trail distances:

The course is flagged using orange and reflective ribbon and yellow arrows. A course map is available on CalTopo. The event notes an elevation gain per loop of 7,000K.

Aid station provisions include basic food items such as pickles, cereal, pretzels, candy, fruit, and bacon. Hydration options listed are water, Tailwind, and various sodas. First aid supplies will be available at the aid station. Runners who choose to drop out are asked to inform race staff.

Packet pickup is offered the day before, and same-day bib pickup is available before the race. Runners must wear bibs on the front of shirt or shorts so they remain visible throughout the event. Trekking poles are permitted. Weather can vary and may include rain and fog.

The event uses a 25 hour cutoff. Medals are handmade pottery from BlueGill Pottery and are unique for each finisher. Additional event rules state that dogs and strollers are not allowed on course except by special exception, entry fees are non-refundable if the event is canceled, deferrals require contact with the race director, and unregistered participants are not allowed. Trail races in Old Fort NC featuring a 50k loop, a net downhill half marathon, and a 10k on new and classic singletrack with aid stations, shuttle for the half, and parking at Camp Grier.

Experience a unique clothing optional trail race through the scenic woods and meadows of the Carolina Foothills Resort. Choose between a 5k or a 7.3k chip timed run followed by a resort lunch and day pass access.

A trail event in Ellenboro, NC with 5K, 25K and 50K options run on a five mile loop. Proceeds support farm development; camping and a Friday bonfire are part of the weekend.

Obstacle-course races at Tryon International Equestrian Center on Aug 01–02, 2026 feature horse-trail terrain, red clay hill climbs, creek beds, multiple obstacles, a pre-race workshop, kids races, and spectator access.
