Chilterns Trail Marathon
The Chilterns Trail Marathon is a guided trail run over the marathon distance of 42.2 km (26.2 miles). The route uses parts of the Ridgeway and other local trails, passing through nature reserves and Wendover Woods. Terrain includes technical single-track sections and rolling hills with approximately 500 m of ascent. English Athletics qualified run leaders provide navigation and technique tips and lead small ability groups. A well stocked refreshment checkpoint is provided about halfway and participants receive a wooden Run the Wild finisher’s medal and a Trees not Tees certificate.
Practical information
The event is based at The Home Office, Tring. There is free on-site parking and the nearest train station is about a 10-minute walk. Facilities at the venue include toilets, a cafe, bag drop and the checkpoint. Entry is limited to 40 spaces and the standard ticket price shown is £75. Runners must be able to run a half marathon on the flat in under 2.5 hours. Trail shoes are mandatory and personal insurance and travel are not included.
