Chilterns Trail Marathon
The Chilterns Trail Marathon is a guided trail run over the marathon distance of 42.2 KM (26.2 miles) held as a one day event. The route uses parts of the Ridgeway and passes through single track trails, nature reserves and Wendover Woods, with rolling hills and about 500 m of ascent.
English Athletics qualified Run Leaders guide the groups, manage navigation and offer technique tips. Participants are grouped by ability; the organiser asks that runners can complete a half marathon on the flat in under 2.5 hours. Trail shoes are required. The event includes checkpoints with refreshments (up to three), toilets and a bag drop, and finishes with a wooden Run the Wild finisher’s medal and a Trees not Tees certificate.
Location and access details note the Iron Room near Tring Station, with the station a short walk away and paid parking available at the station plus limited on street parking. The organiser limits entries to 40 spaces and lists the entry fee as £75. Items not included are personal insurance, travel and parking. Spectators are welcome and will be sent viewing locations in the final briefing email. The schedule and final route information are provided to participants after booking.
