Chilterns Trail Marathon
The Chilterns Trail Marathon is a guided trail event covering 42.2 km (26.2 miles) on routed paths through the Chiltern Hills. The course uses parts of the Ridgeway, passes through Wendover Woods and several nature reserves, and includes rolling hills with approximately 500 m of ascent.
Participants run in small ability groups led by English Athletics qualified run leaders. Leaders handle navigation, offer running technique tips and stay with the group throughout the day. The event provides a well stocked refreshment point (up to three stops), checkpoints, toilets and a bag drop. A wooden Run the Wild finisher’s medal and a Trees not Tees certificate are included.
The organiser sets an ability requirement: participants should be able to run a half marathon on the flat in under 2.5 hours. Trail shoes are mandatory. The event starts from the Iron Room Hall near Tring Station; the station is a three minute walk from the venue and offers paid parking and a taxi rank. There are 40 spaces available for this event and the listed individual entry fee is £75.
Personal insurance, travel and parking fees are not included. Mandatory kit details and further event information are provided by the organiser. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
