Event overview

The Chilterns Trail Marathon is a guided, one-day trail run covering 42.2 km (26.2 miles). The route uses parts of the Ridgeway and passes through local trails, nature reserves and Wendover Woods. The profile is rolling hills with approximately 500 m of ascent. English Athletics qualified run leaders provide navigation, pacing groups and running technique tips. A staffed refreshment point is provided around halfway. Participants receive a wooden finisher’s medal and a Trees not Tees certificate.

Logistics and requirements

The event is based at The Home Office, Tring. There is free on-site parking and the train station is about a 10 minute walk. On-site facilities include toilets, a cafe, bag drop and a checkpoint. Entry is limited to 40 spaces and the listed ticket price is £75. Participants are grouped by ability and must be able to run a half marathon on the flat in under 2.5 hours.
