The Chester Round the Walls Race takes place on Friday 26 December 2025 at Chester Racecourse, New Crane Street, CH1 2LY. The event is organised by West Cheshire Athletic Club. Minimum age is 16 on the day of the race. Entry fees are listed as £20.00 for unattached runners and £18.00 for UKA-affiliated runners (a £2 discount is applied at checkout; entrants must use the same name as on their UKA registration card). Transfers are allowed until 09:00 on 26 December 2025. Entries close on 26 December 2025 at 09:00.

Course and prizes

The course starts and finishes at the racecourse and follows a lap of the racecourse, a riverside path, then an anti-clockwise lap of the historic city walls. The route passes over the Eastgate clock and returns to the racecourse via the steps from Nuns Road, finishing on the grass in the centre of the Roodee. The route is described as approximately 6 km in length. Prizes are awarded to the first five women and first five men, plus first U/20 and age-category winners for O/40, O/45, O/50, O/55, O/60, O/65 and O/70. All finishers receive a commemorative item.

Policies

Entrants must be medically fit to run and obey marshals’ instructions. The organisers reserve the right to amend or cancel the event; refunds are at the organisers’ discretion and booking fees charged by third parties are non-refundable.
