Voodoo Keller Bar / Chelmsford Brew Co: 12k's of Christmas

This is a seasonal trail run of 12k that starts and finishes at the Voodoo Keller Bar in Chelmsford. The organiser describes it as a fun, social event rather than a competition. The route is provided as a GPX/Strava file with an optional route narrative. A TRA permit number is listed as 5935 (TBC). Total places were limited to 60 and the event status is shown as closed.

Course, checkpoint and finish

The route follows trails out to the Chelmsford Brew Co tap room, where participants receive a drink token and may have a pint, a glass of wine, or a soft drink. Marshals record arrival and departure at the brewery checkpoint; a maximum 15 minute stop is allowed once the tail runner has arrived. The outward start involves climbing stairs out of the basement at the bar. Runners return to the Voodoo Keller Bar to finish; the finish area is down steps and marshals stop the clock. Christmas-themed medals are given to all finishers.

Entry items and rules

Entry included a Santa hat, drinks at the brewery checkpoint and at the finish (with an option to upgrade to rum), a bag of crisps, and a Christmas medal. The event takes place in licensed premises so no under-18s are allowed. No dogs are permitted except an event dog in the rear seating area. Compulsory equipment was a mobile telephone with ICE set to the same number used at sign-up. Public transport links and nearby car parks are available close to the venue. Non-TRA / England Athletics affiliated club members pay a £2 levy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
