The Charmouth Challenge is an 8-mile fell run held annually on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, featuring a hilly, multi-terrain course with stunning coastal views, including an ascent of Golden Cap, the highest point on the South Coast of England. Organized since 1983, it serves as the main fundraiser for the local primary school. The event also includes a 2-mile Fun Run for younger participants. The Challenge attracts runners from various regions and enjoys strong community support. Headphones, dogs, wheeled vehicles, and walkers are not permitted, and participants must be at least 18 years old to enter the main race. Slow and Dirty is a festive 19 km trail run through Dorset on 21 December 2025 with a canicross option and family friendly vibe. The level railway route welcomes dogs and buggies and finishes with a bar, medal and refreshments.

Join the Community Canal Run for a scenic off road route along the canal and River Tone into Taunton. Free to enter with registration required, choose a 14 mile or 7.5 mile route and enjoy cafes and a relaxed, untimed atmosphere.

Join a festive 60 minute score event at Knightshayes National Trust on Sunday 28 December in scenic parkland and woodland. Mass start, map open at the hooter and race to collect as many controls as you can.
