Trail Running Along the Coast

The Charm Bracelet Half Marathon is a trail running event covering a distance of 14.35 miles along the north east coastline in the United Kingdom. The course begins at Redcar Beach Base on Majuba Road and heads south, concluded in the fishing village of Staithes.

Participants follow a route that incorporates sections of the Cleveland Way, featuring a variety of terrain including sand, mud, rocks, and wooded areas. The course includes approximately 1591 feet of total elevation as it moves between coastal villages, beach sections, and segments along the clifftops. Between miles 7 and 8, the route passes the Circle sculpture, which is locally known as The Charm Bracelet.

The event is open to participants aged 17 and older. It has an entry limit of 150 places and a 5 hour cutoff time, which allows for walkers to complete the distance. Recognition by trophies is provided for several categories:

  • 14.35 miles
  • First male, female, and non-binary finishers
  • First place in male and female age categories for 50, 60, and 70
