Course and logistics
The course begins on Nevada City’s Broad Street and uses a mix of pavement, gravel, and single-track trails. Described features include towering pines, a historic swinging bridge, Tribute Trail and Deer Creek views, a newly constructed trail section, historical landmarks, and a series of climbs. The half-marathon has multiple aid stations; the 5K has a water station. Runners are asked to bring their own cup or water bottle for refills.
Course rules and safety notes include no dogs on the course (dogs on leash may wait at the Miners Foundry), no strollers on the course, walking across the swinging bridge for half-marathon participants, and use of open-eared headphones only. Participants are responsible for knowing the course and may download a GPX or Strava map for reference.
