Event overview

The CF64 Winter Race is organised by Penarth and Dinas Runners and takes place entirely within Cosmeston Lakes Country Park in Penarth. The course distance is approximately 6.4 miles (10.3 km). The 2026 edition is scheduled for Sunday 18 January 2026. Entries are set to open on 20 November and close on 16 January, with entry fees listed at £8 and £10.

Course and logistics

The undulating course is off-road and runs through woodland, meadows, scrubland and some marshy areas. The route is marshalled at key points and includes additional signage and mile markers for navigation. A centrally located first-aid station will be at race HQ and a 4x4 rapid response vehicle will be available for on-course emergencies. There is a cut-off time of 1 hour 30 minutes to complete the race; runners exceeding this may not receive a result and could be asked to withdraw. Runners must be at least 18 years old on race day.

The event is held under UK Athletics rules and a licence with Welsh Athletics has been applied for.
