Cavendish Race Weekend

Cavendish Race Weekend takes place June 20–21, 2026 in Cavendish, Prince Edward Island. The event includes multiple race distances on routes that use trails and coastal sections within Prince Edward Island National Park and local attractions.

Distances offered

  • 1 km Kids Run at Shining Waters Family Fun Park
  • 5 km Route along Cavendish Beach Trail and Dunelands Trail
  • 10 km Route via Homestead Trail and MacNeill Loop

The kids run is held inside Shining Waters before the park opens. Young participants are cheered by mascots and receive a participant medal and a Maritime Fun Group frisbee. Registration for the kids run also includes a large same day ticket discount for Sandspit or Shining Waters Fun Parks.

The 5K follows coastal and wooded sections, covers just over 3.1 miles with gentle rolling elevation of about 119 ft. The 10K explores extended trail systems and shoreline, covers just over 6.3 miles with moderate elevation around 196 ft. Registration for the 5K and 10K lists a fee of 35 USD plus tax; the kids run fee is 10 USD.

Awards include medals for top finishers and overall male and female winners. All participants receive a commemorative medal and a t shirt. The event will have course signage, volunteers, aid stations, hydration stations, and medical staff. Trail runs nearby

A backyard ultra on a closed 6.7 km trail loop where runners repeat laps until only one remains. Organized by the PEI Roadrunners Club, with proceeds directed to charities and sporting organizations.

Trail races in Bonshaw Hills and Strathgartney Provincial Parks on August 2, 2026, organized by the PEI Roadrunners Club. Distances range from 5 km to 52 km over rolling hills, single-track trails and wooden bridges.

Run a 6.706 km loop each hour on a gentle Brackley Beach course, with space for crew stations and proceeds supporting local charities and sporting groups.
