The ACTI-SNACK Run Forest Run at Castlewellan Forest Park takes place on Saturday 28 February 2026 at The Court Yard, Castlewellan Forest Park, Main Street, Castlewellan, Co. Down BT31 9BU. It is the sixth and final race in the Run Forest Run Winter Series. Distances offered are:

  • 5K
  • 10K

The course starts and finishes near the lakeside castle. The route is off-road and offers views of the Mourne Mountains and the permanent maze; distances may vary slightly because of the terrain.

Entry, fees and logistics

Standard adult entry for the 5K and 10K is £28. An early bird rate of £26 applies for entries made before 24 December 2025. Junior rates apply (£21 standard, £19 early bird) with age categories noted for each distance. Race packs and bibs are posted to participants (packs posted on 19 February 2026 and expected to arrive by 23 February 2026). Postal options for delivery require a Northern Ireland or Republic of Ireland selection with an additional postage fee.

Parking at the main car park carries a £5 fee; free parking is available outside the forest park about 1 km from the town square. There will be no water station on course; participants should carry water if needed. Pets and buggies are not permitted. Entry includes a Run Forest Run medal, individual chip timing, race number and complimentary post-race refreshments.

Facilities and results

Toilet facilities are available in the main car park and Courtyard; showers are at the Life Building. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers and series category winners.
