The Castle Rock Trail Festival / liveBIG Run is a trail running and walking event on the Ridgeline trail system in Castle Rock, using Philip S. Miller Park and Ridgeline Open Space. The event includes a family obstacle run for children ages 5 to 12 and longer trail races for adult participants. Participants receive an event T-shirt and finisher’s medal. Professional chip timing is used and free event photos are provided after the race. Post-race refreshments and finish-line beverages are available.

Standard registration fees listed on the event page are $20 for the Family Adventure Run, $35 for the 5K, $45 for the 10K, $65 for the half marathon and $95 for the 50K; taxes and processing fees are additional. Online registration closes Sunday, Sept. 28; race-day registration is available with a fee increase for all races except the Family Adventure Run. The 50K ultramarathon has an 8-hour time limit. Aid stations will provide bottled water and basic first aid; selected aid stations for the 50K will also offer electrolytes. A 10-foot by 10-foot tent near the second loop start is available for drop bags during the 50K. Awards are given overall and by age group for races 5K and up.
