Castle Rock Trail Festival

The Castle Rock Trail Festival offers multiple trail race options on the Town’s ridgeline trail system, using Philip S. Miller Park and Ridgeline Open Space. Course choices range from a family-oriented obstacle run to an ultramarathon distance, with race routes provided for each distance.

Race features include an event T-shirt and finisher’s medal for participants, professional chip timing with a disposable bib chip, downloadable event photos after the race, and post-race refreshments. Race-day registration is available and fees increase by $15 for all races except the family event. Listed entry fees apply before taxes and registration site fees.

Aid stations on course provide bottled water and basic first aid supplies. Select aid stations at Philip S. Miller Park and at two Ridgeline locations also offer electrolyte drinks. The 50K Ultramarathon has an 8-hour time limit and a designated second-loop bag drop tent near the finish for participant gear.

Awards are presented overall and by age group in races 5K and up, with specific age-group categories used for the half marathon, 10K, and 50K events. Weather can vary in early October; average lows and highs are provided, trails may be muddy in rain or snow, and wildlife is commonly seen on the open space trails. The course reaches about 6,700 feet in elevation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
