Canterbury Trail Marathon & Half Marathon

A new off-road event in 2026 set in the countryside just south of Canterbury. Routes run across scenic trails, rural footpaths and quiet country lanes, passing rolling farmland, historic pathways and open stretches of countryside. The course includes a mixture of wide runnable tracks and more technical trail sections.

Distances

  • Marathon - off-road distance with four checkpoints and mandatory kit and navigation.
  • Half Marathon - way marked distance with two checkpoints and a mandatory kit list.

Checkpoints and aid stations are provided: the Marathon has four, with the first and fourth at The Ivy Barn in Littlebourne, the second at Kingston Barn and the third at Lower Hardres Village Hall. The Half Marathon has two checkpoints at The Ivy Barn. Each checkpoint includes toilets, food, hot and cold drinks and options to top up water bottles or flasks.

Event HQ is at CCCU Sports Centre, Pilgrims Way, Canterbury CT1 1XS, offering showers, changing rooms and toilets, hot and cold food and drink, a chill-out zone, free massages and a recovery area. Both distances carry a mandatory kit list and there will be a kit check and route download check at Event HQ; the Marathon requires self-navigation with downloaded route files. Cut-off times are 3.5 hours for the Half Marathon and 7 hours for the Marathon. OpenTracking live tracking is available. £1 from every entry will go to the Kent Neuro Therapy Centre. Minimum age 18 on the day; there are no on-the-day entries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
