Rye Ancient Trails 30k & 15k

Rye Ancient Trails is a trail running event held in Rye, East Sussex, with race headquarters at Rye Sports Centre. The event takes place on 13 September 2026 and offers multi terrain, hilly routes through the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The course links the Norman churches of Rye, Iden, Beckley, Northiam and Peasmarsh. The field departs from the high street to the calls of the Town Crier and then follows ancient trails, historic woodland, orchards, quiet country lanes and sections with views toward the coastline. The route includes about 1500 ft of climbing.

The 2026 charity partner is The Oliver Curd Trust, which provides free holiday accommodation for families affected by childhood cancer and life limiting conditions. The race supports local charities and uses local marshals; the Girl Guides serve tea, coffee and cake at the finish.

Trail runs nearby

Off-road 10k, 5k and junior runs at Milton Creek Country Park on 10 May 2026. The event supports the Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Trust and includes medals, prizes, pacers and limited free on-site parking.

Trail races at Rathfinny Wine Estate on undulating off road loops with marked routes, aid stations and recycled finisher medals. The carbon neutral event supports the WOLO Foundation and offers single and double loop options.

A point-to-point 50km trail race from Falmer to Eastbourne along the South Downs Way, covering roughly 3,500 feet of ascent and descent with mostly runnable trails, four aid stations, live GPS tracking and no qualifier required.

A single loop trail half marathon around the Seven Sisters in the South Downs National Park, starting and finishing at Helen Garden in Eastbourne. The 13.5 miles route includes about 2,000 feet of ascent on mostly trail surfaces.
