Details and rules
The races are organised by volunteer members of the Town & Country Harriers to raise funds for the Mendip Hills Fund. The event has previously donated a total of £18,800 to the fund. Both races are UTMB qualifying index races: the 50-mile is a 100 km index race and the 50 km is a 50 km index race. Entries opened on 8 June 2025 and close on 11 April 2026. Entry fees listed are £72 rising to £82 for the 50-mile race, and £57 rising to £67 for the 50 km race; fees include a £5 increase from 2025 to cover tracking devices. Minimum age is 20. There were 55 participants listed at the time of the entry page.
Race rules include a restriction on headphones (both earpieces must be removed at checkpoints and marshalled road crossings), one pacer allowed from the final checkpoint, mandatory kit requirements, and penalties for deliberate route cutting. The 50-mile race requires candidates to have completed a trail marathon since 1 January 2025. Pregnancy refunds and registered guide runner arrangements are provided.
