Buchlyvie 10k
The Buchlyvie 10k takes place on 30 January 2027 in Buchlyvie, Stirling. It is a community-run trail race limited to 300 runners, held under UK Athletics rules with Scottish Athletics licence ES015335. The advertised distance is 10 km and the event is chip timed.
Registration is at Buchlyvie Village Hall and race numbers with embedded timing chips are issued at registration. The course is an out-and-back that starts behind the primary school, follows Station Road for just over half a mile, then turns onto the old railway track which is mainly firetrack and largely flat. The halfway point is at Barbadoes Cottage on the old railway track; jelly babies and water are provided there. The finish is at the school. The course has one hill; organisers note personal bests have been achieved when weather permitted.
Route maps are available in the village hall on the day and the route is well signposted. The event is supported by first aiders, marshals, Lomond Mountain Rescue and Central Scotland Police. A lead bike and a sweeper are in place and participants must follow directions from police and marshals. The route is exposed in January and wind chill can be a factor.
There will be refreshments and home baking for sale. All entrants receive a biscuit, fruit, a medal and a goodie bag. Facilities include ladies toilets in the hall and gents and gender neutral portaloos in the hall car park. Parking is available in the lay-by, on the Main Street and in the school car park with stewarding for some lay-by spaces. A regular bus service runs from Stirling, number 10. In case of extreme weather the race may be postponed and rescheduled; entrants are automatically re-entered and refunds or late swaps are not offered.
