GPS Cross Country 5K

The BRRC GPS 5K Cross Country takes place at Herring Run Park on Sunday, November 15, 2026. The course uses park trails and nearby roads with the start located along Belair Road on the Chesterfield side near the muraled shed. Parking is available on Belair or Chesterfield Road with a short walk to the start toward the Herring Run Bridge upstream of the bridge.

The route features a mix of paved sections, open field running and technical single track. The race uses an XC style start with broad field running to spread out participants. The course crosses the river twice and deviates from the local high school course in places. Road shoes are acceptable for much of the course, though some technical sections may benefit from trail shoes.

Entry for the event is free. Donations are accepted for a scholarship fund for college freshmen or to the Friends of Herring Run Parks. This event is listed as the final GPS race of the year. Volunteers are requested because the course includes many turns in a compact area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
