Bronze Dragonfly is a timed ultrarunning event organized by Run 4 a Reason LLC and Rough Runners at Lake Mayer in Savannah, GA. The event aims to raise awareness and funds for local mental health support and counseling. The race is named in reference to a bronze statue of a local runner at Lake Mayer and to the dragonflies that inhabit the lake, which are used as symbols of change and hope.

Race details

The course is a USATF certified 1.4 mile loop that is half paved and half rubberized track. The event is chip timed and offers multiple race durations:

  • 30 hours
  • 24 hours
  • 12 hours (Day)
  • 12 hours (Night)
  • 6 hours (Sunday)
  • 3 hours

Every participant who completes at least one lap receives a finisher medal. Runners who complete over 100 miles receive a buckle, with a different buckle available for 100-mile finishes achieved in under 24 hours. There are no bib transfers and a refund/deferral policy is posted by the organizer. Pacers are not allowed for the 3, 6, or 12 hour daytime events; pacers for the 24 and 30 hour events are allowed only during designated overnight hours.
