Broken Rock Trail Runs

Dodgeville, United States • 10 Oct 2026

Event Overview

The Broken Rock Trail Runs take place at Bethel Horizons in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, within the Driftless Area. The event name comes from the Broken Rock Trail, which features a steep rock-stair climb near the finish.

Distances and Course Format

The event offers three distances on a looped course:

  • 50K - three loops
  • 20 Miler - two loops
  • 10 Miler - one loop

Each loop includes varied terrain such as MTB singletrack, grass paths, hiking paths, pavement, and gravel. The 50K course has approximately 3300 feet of elevation gain over 30.75 miles, the 20 Miler has about 2200 feet over 20.5 miles, and the 10 Miler has around 1100 feet over 10.25 miles.

Aid and Support

There are two aid stations per loop. They provide water, hydration drinks, soda, gels, chews, and food items like cookies, fruit, and sandwiches. The main Forrest Village aid station at the start/finish also offers hot food. This is a cup-less event, so participants must carry their own hydration vessel. Drop bags and crew access are allowed at the Forrest Village station for the 50K and 20 Miler distances. Pacers are permitted for the 50K on the final lap only.

Additional Information

The top three male and female finishers in each distance, along with the top overall non-binary finisher per distance, receive awards. All participants receive a custom long-sleeve performance shirt and a finisher medal. Course cut-off times are 9 hours for the 50K and 5 hours for the 20 Miler and 10 Miler.
