Broken Rock Trail Runs

Broken Rock Trail Runs is held at Bethel Horizons in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. The event uses a looped course on the Driftless Area bluffs and offers three distance options with varied terrain and elevation.

  • 50K - 30.75 miles, three loops, ~3300 ft elevation gain
  • 20 Miler - 20.5 miles, two loops, ~2200 ft elevation gain
  • 10 Miler - 10.25 miles, one loop, ~1100 ft elevation gain

Each loop includes singletrack, grass paths, hiking paths, gravel and short pavement sections. The route features rocky climbs, ridge lines, wooded descents, and wide vistas. Route markings include orange snow stakes, pin flags, arrow signs, and marking tape. One out and back section will have two way traffic with keep right signage. The course is subject to change pending venue approval and trail conditions.

Aid and support include two fully stocked aid stations per loop with restrooms. Forrest Village serves as the start and finish area and hosts the main aid station with a drop bag tent and crewing space for the 50K and 20 Miler. The event is cup less so runners must carry their own hydration vessel. Nutrition offerings at aid stations include water, electrolyte options, gels, snacks, and hot food options at Forrest Village.

Pacers are permitted for the 50K on the final lap from Forrest Village to the finish. Top three male and female finishers plus the top overall non binary finisher in each distance receive awards. Age group placements appear in official results but no age group awards are given. The event has a refund credit policy for cancellations made 60 or more days prior and no refunds for weather cancellations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
