Broken Rock Trail Run
Broken Rock Trail Run takes place October 10, 2026, at Bethel Horizons in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. The event uses a looped course on trails around Bethel Horizons and Governor Dodge State Park.
The race offers three distance options:
- 50K three loops, 30.75 miles, ~3300 ft elevation gain
- 20 Mile two loops, 20.5 miles, ~2200 ft elevation gain
- 10 Mile one loop, 10.25 miles, ~1100 ft elevation gain
Each loop includes mixed terrain: mountain bike singletrack, grass paths, hiking paths, pavement and gravel. Notable features include rocky climbs, grassy ridgelines, wooded descents and a steep rock-stair climb on Broken Rock Trail near the finish. The route will be marked with orange snow stakes, pin flags, arrows and tape; wrong-way sections will be marked.
Aid and support details: there are two aid stations per loop (Ropes Course at about mile 4.5 and Forrest Village near mile 10.25). Aid stations are fully stocked, provide restrooms, and Forrest Village serves as the start/finish area and has hot food options. This is a cup-less event; participants should bring their own hydration vessel.
Support rules and services: pacers are allowed for the 50K on the final lap from Forrest Village to the finish. Forrest Village has designated crewing space and a drop bag tent for the 50K and 20 Mile. Official cutoffs are 9 hours for the 50K and 6 hours for the 20 Mile and 10 Mile. Packet pickup is scheduled for October 9 (time TBD) and on race day at Bethel Horizons.
Finishers receive a long-sleeve performance tech shirt, a finisher medal, a custom bib with chip timing, and post-race food. Overall awards are given to the top three male and female finishers and the top overall non-binary finisher in each distance; age-group placements are recorded but no age-group awards are given.
Bethel Horizons is a nonprofit partner for the event and donations and a portion of proceeds support its programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
