Broken Rock Trail Run
Broken Rock Trail Run is an ultra trail event held on October 10, 2026 at Bethel Horizons near Dodgeville, Wisconsin. The race uses a looped course based at Forrest Village and takes place on trails and paths across the Driftless Area.
Distances
- 50K : 30.75 miles, three loops, ~3300 ft elevation gain.
- 20 Mile : 20.5 miles, two loops, ~2200 ft elevation gain.
- 10 Mile : 10.25 miles, one loop, ~1100 ft elevation gain.
Each loop includes a mix of singletrack, grass paths, hiking paths, pavement and gravel. Terrain breakdown is roughly 33% MTB singletrack, 33% grass path, 21% hiking path, 7% pavement and 6% gravel. The course includes a steep rock-stair climb near the finish known as Broken Rock.
Aid stations are placed twice per loop (Ropes Course and Forrest Village) and are described as fully stocked and supported; Forrest Village serves as the start and finish area and offers additional hot food options. Restrooms will be available at both aid stations. This is a cup-less event and participants are asked to bring their own hydration vessel.
Pacers are allowed for the 50K on the final lap. There are designated crewing and drop bag areas for the 50K and 20 Mile distances. The route will be marked with orange snow stakes, pin flags, arrow signs and tape, and course details are subject to change pending venue or trail conditions.
The event uses custom long sleeve performance shirts, finisher medals, custom bibs and chip timing. Overall awards will be given to the top three male and top three female finishers and the top overall non-binary finisher in each distance; age-group placements will be recorded but no age-group awards will be given.
