Broken Rock Trail Runs

Broken Rock Trail Runs is a looped trail event held at Bethel Horizons, 4651 County Road ZZ, Dodgeville, Wisconsin. The event offers three distance options:

  • 50K - three loops, 30.75 miles, ~3300 ft elevation gain
  • 20 Miler - two loops, 20.5 miles, ~2200 ft elevation gain
  • 10 Miler - one loop, 10.25 miles, ~1100 ft elevation gain

The course uses a mix of terrain: mountain bike singletrack, grass paths, hiking paths, pavement and gravel, with rocky climbs and ridge lines. Route markings include orange stakes, pin flags, arrow signs, and marking tape; wrong way signs will mark paths not to use. There is one out and back section with two way traffic where runners should keep right. The course is subject to change based on venue approval and trail conditions.

Aid stations and support are provided according to distance. The Forrest Village area serves as the start and finish and as a primary aid station with restrooms and hot food options. Aid station supplies include water, electrolyte hydration, soda, gels, chews, cookies, PB and J, candy, pickles, chips, granola bars and fruit. The event is cup-less, so runners must carry their own hydration vessel. Drop bag and crewing space is designated at Forrest Village for the 50K and 20 Miler. Pacers are allowed for the 50K only on the final lap from Forrest Village to the finish.

Cutoff times are listed by distance. Awards recognize the top three male and top three female finishers and the top overall non-binary finisher in each distance. Each entrant receives a long sleeve performance tech shirt, a finisher medal, and post-race food. Registration closes October 7 at 11:59 PM CT. Refund, transfer, and distance change policies apply as stated by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
