The route mixes path and trail running. It is hilly between about 1 km and 3 km, has some bumpy or muddy sections, is dog friendly and is suitable for off-road buggies. The 5k is one lap and the 10k is two laps; at the top of the hill after the 3 km point the routes diverge. The course is not suitable for wheelchairs.

The event uses chip-on-bib timing with instant results and provides both gun time and net time for runners. Every participant receives a MoRun medal and a finisher headband. Drinks and sweets are available at the finish. Registration and race pack collection are organised by race number; toilets are located in the event hub and bag storage is provided next to registration under manned gazebos with limited space. Parking is limited; Church Lodge carpark off the B3128 is the recommended parking location and a £2 charge applies. A fancy dress competition and spot-prize medals are included.
