Event overview
The Two Tunnels Railway Races take place in and around Bath with a start and finish at Brickfields Park, Bath, BA2 1LX. The route goes through two restored railway tunnels that are now a shared use path: Devonshire Tunnel (408 m) and Combe Down Tunnel (1672 m). The events are scheduled on 22 February 2026, 7 June 2026 and 16 August 2026. The organiser donates £1 per runner to Sustrans and more than £30,000 has been raised to date.

The Return Ticket 5 km, 10 km, Half and 50 km, plus the 5 x 10 km Relay, are officially measured. The marathon is not officially measured. Cut-offs: a 3 hour limit to start lap 2 of the marathon and an 8.5 hour cut-off for the 50 km. The Return Ticket routes are essentially 100% tarmac with small grass sections at start and finish. Hilly Ticket routes mix tarmac, woodland trail and stone paths. City Ticket routes use tarmac, canal towpath and river path.
Facilities include onsite toilets, coffee and food vans and a bag drop. Bike racking is provided; runners must bring a lock. There are no changing rooms. Drink and feed provision: no drinks on the 5 km; 1 feast station on the 10 km; 3-5 on the half marathon; 9 on the marathon and 9 on the 50 km. Food and drinks include water, electrolyte, and a mix of snacks with GF, DF and vegan options. All finishers of 5 km and longer receive a two-sided 10 cm x 10 cm medal. Prize categories are allocated by gender and age bands, with the number of prizes depending on finish numbers. Wave starts of about 100 runners are used.
