Bristol Trail & Ultra

Bristol, United Kingdom • 28 Mar 2026

Event Overview

The Bristol Trail & Ultra is a trail running event held on Saturday 28 March 2026. The event starts and finishes at Museum Square in central Bristol. There are two distance options: a 25km trail and a 55km ultra.

Route Details

The routes are designed to take runners through green spaces within and around Bristol. The 25km trail starts at Museum Square, runs alongside the Avon river, passes under the Clifton Suspension Bridge, climbs through Leigh Wood Nature Reserve, and crosses into Clifton. It then returns to the city, joining the Frome Valley Way, passing through Eastville Park, and running for approximately 6km on the Bristol and Bath Railway Path.

The 55km ultra follows a similar initial path but extends further, covering over 10km on the Bristol and Bath Railway Path and joining the River Avon Trail. The terrain is a mixture of footpaths, parks, woodland trails, riverside paths, and disused railway lines, with some steps and hills. The event states the 55km route is 70% paved and 30% unpaved, while the 25km route is 82% paved and 18% unpaved.

Event Information

The event uses chip timing. The route is fully waymarked with signs, and downloadable GPX files are provided. There are strict cut-off times to ensure all participants finish by 18:00.

There are feed stations along the route providing food and drinks:

  • For the 55km: 3 feed stations.
  • For the 25km: 1 feed station.

The entry includes a finisher's medal, chip timing, route marking, GPX files, access to feed stations, and medical support. The event partners with the Bristol-based Left Handed Giant Brewing Company. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
