Bournemouth Coastal TEN

The Bournemouth Coastal TEN is a seaside running event based at Hengistbury Head nature reserve in Bournemouth, Dorset (BH6 4EW). The event offers two measured distances that follow off-road seafront paths and coastal promenades, including passage along Boscombe Pier with uninterrupted sea views.

Course details:

  • 10.0mi route, 102m elevation gain.
  • 10.0km route, 50m elevation gain.

The routes are largely flat and traffic free, using smooth, flowing paths with very little climbing. On clear days the coastline views can include the Isle of Wight, The Needles and Old Harry Rocks on the Jurassic Coast. The start area at Hengistbury Head has facilities and hard standing parking.

Entries are chip timed. The event provides marked and marshalled routes, water stations, first aid support, post-race refreshments and a finisher medal. Signage on course uses pink arrows and pink tape; hazards and road junctions are marked with caution signs. Bib numbers are collected on arrival at registration; participants are asked to use a reusable cup or bottle as the event operates plastic free.
