BougeBouge Wakefield Covered Bridge Run
The BougeBouge Wakefield Covered Bridge Run combines road and trail courses in Wakefield, in the Municipality of La Pêche. Routes cross the Wakefield covered bridge and include sections through Gatineau Park.
Distances offered:
- 3 km family run or walk that crosses the covered bridge.
- 5 km road course along the Gatineau River with an out and back section.
- 10 km road course one third paved and two thirds gravel.
- 10 km trail with varied terrain including hills, forests and plains.
- 21.1 km trail limited to 250 participants, mixed terrain with a turnaround at Philippe Lake.
Trail courses begin with an ascent on a Vorlage ski trail, pass the Wakefield Mill and join part of the Trans Canada Trail. The 21.1 km trail requires participants to be at least 10 years old and does not allow dogs.
Registration includes a personalized bib, a finisher prize that varies by season, a snack, and event photography. Medals must be collected at the time of bib pickup; unclaimed medals are recycled. Tickets are non refundable except if the event is cancelled by the organizer.
Logistics and safety notes: timing is provided by a race timing service and a clock will be visible at the finish, there are five water stations on course with some self serve points, indoor toilets are available at the Vorlage Centre only, lockers are unsupervised, and time cut offs are set at points on the course for safety.
