Booneville Backroads Ultra

The Booneville Backroads Ultra in Booneville, Iowa, offers multiple distances and a rural out-and-back through many of the Bridges of Madison County and surrounding countryside. The course features thousands of feet of elevation gain, many hills, and level B roads that can become difficult when wet. The event is described as grassroots and passes through small communities with variable weather.

Available distances include:

  • 100 miles
  • 100K
  • 50K
  • 10K

Organizers will mark the 50K, 100K, and 100-mile courses going forward; participants are still required to carry cue sheets. To encourage female participation in the ultra distances, women who belong to Trail Sisters groups are eligible for a discount; interested runners should request a discount code by direct message. Crew support will be allowed on course with restrictions: one crew vehicle per participant or one crew vehicle per group, and crew support is intended to be supplemental grab-and-go assistance. Additional restrictions and operational details will be published later in the summer.

Registration closes Fri, Aug 28 at 11:59 PM CT. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
