Heatwave Half Marathon - Kansas City

The Heatwave Half Marathon in Kansas City features a variety of running distances designed for different participation levels. Taking place in the summer, the event offers a range of road races including a Half Marathon, a Half Marathon Relay, a 10K, a 5K, and a 1 Mile run. Additional activities include a 50m Kids Dash for children aged 10 and under, and a virtual race option for those unable to attend in person.

The Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K events are chip-timed with live results and awards provided for participants. The 1 Mile and Kids Dash are untimed events. For the Half Marathon Relay, teams can be formed with any number of participants, though each member must register individually. A volunteer-then-run option is also available, allowing individuals to assist with event preparations before participating in their choice of race distance.

Registered participants receive a designer shirt, a custom bib, and a finisher medal. To guarantee a shirt in the correct size, registration must be completed by the Thursday two weeks prior to the event. Participants also have access to free digital photos of the race. At the conclusion of the event, ice cream is provided to help runners cool down. Reduced pricing is available for participants aged 12 and under in the 5K and 10K events.
