BMF Hounslow Training Run Perry's-Lockleys-Pinnacles Return

This is a guided training run on a section of the Hounslow course in Blue Mountains National Park, starting and finishing at Perry's Lookdown campground, Blackheath NSW. The route descends 2.5 km of stairs into the Grose Valley, crosses the Grose River, climbs a rough trail to the Lockleys Pylon summit, follows single track to the Pinnacles Car Park, and returns to Perry's. An optional turnaround at Lockleys Pylon shortens the route.

The session is run by Blue Mountains Fitness under an NPWS ECO PASS licence and public liability insurance for training within the national park. Trainers discuss race preparation topics such as gear, nutrition, pacing, aid stations and course strategy. There are three pace groups named MIGHTY TURTLES, a medium paced group, and HARES. Organisers request participants carry the Hounslow Classic mandatory gear and sufficient fuel and hydration for up to about five hours on foot.
