Blue Spruce

Blue Spruce is a trail race held within the Greenway and Forests for the World trail systems in Prince George. The event features courses on gravel and dirt surfaces, highlighting the natural landscape of the area. The race begins and ends at the Forests for the World parking lot at the end of Kueng Road on Cranbrook Hill.

Participants can choose between two main distances:

  • 5 km (110 m ascent, 112 m descent)
  • 10 km

The 5 km route provides a sampling of the Blue Spruce trail before looping around the far side of Shane Lake to return to the finish. Runners in the 10 km category follow the Blue Spruce Connector for approximately 2.5 km until reaching a gate at an open meadow for the turnaround. Both routes navigate various paths including the Eastern Boundary Loop, the water tower trail, and the Reflection Lake loop trail.

A water and Gatorade station is positioned at the 10 km turnaround point. For safety and liability reasons, participants are required to leave dogs and headphones at home. The event also includes a free kids race available for all participants' families. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
