Course

Blue Spruce is a trail race on paths in the Greenway and Forests for the World Trail systems. The event offers two distances: 5 km and 10 km. Both start at the Forests for the World parking lot at the end of Kueng Road on Cranbrook Hill.

The 5 km course passes Shane Lake and includes a section of the Blue Spruce trail before turning around. The 10 km course follows the Blue Spruce Connector to a gate at an open meadow before returning. The surface is gravel and dirt. The 5 km distance has an elevation gain of 110 meters and a descent of 112 meters. The inaugural race was held in 2013.

Logistics

The race takes place on September 27, 2026. Entry is free for Prince George Road Runners members. Non-members can register in advance for $15 (5 km) or $20 (10 km), or on the day for $20 (5 km) or $25 (10 km). All participants must register to receive a bib number.

A free kids race is included. Dogs and headphones are not permitted. A water and Gatorade station is located at the 10 km turnaround point. Participants must complete a waiver. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
