Blue Hill Mountain Trail Fest

Blue Hill Mountain Trail Fest is a multi distance running event and gathering on Blue Hill Mountain in Blue Hill, ME. The event offers the following distances:

  • 50k
  • 25k
  • 10k
  • 5k

Course formats use a figure eight profile with repeated loops and an upper summit loop. The 5k follows Mountain Rd, a short out-and-back on Post Office Trail, then up Osgood Trail to the summit and down the Service Road trail to the finish. The 10k includes one upper loop plus a full figure eight for two summits. The 25k is composed of three full figure eight loops after a shorter upper loop. The 50k consists of seven full figure eight loops.

Trails include fields with wildflowers, densely forested and technical singletrack, and coastal viewpoints from the mountain. The race hub at the start/finish provides a main aid station with hydration, snacks including vegan options, and a smaller aid station at the Post Office/Osgood/Mountain Rd intersection. Designated drop bag areas are available for 25k and 50k runners. Support crews may station at Osgood/Mountain Rd for 25k and 50k; pacers are not allowed.

Event proceeds are transferred to Blue Hill Heritage Trust and Wabanaki Alliance. The event acknowledges Blue Hill Mountain, called Awanadjo by the Penobscot Tribe of the Wabanaki Confederacy, and notes the mountain is largely conserved under Blue Hill Heritage Trust.
