Blue Hill Mountain Trail Fest

Blue Hill Mountain Trail Fest is a multi-distance trail race and community gathering on Blue Hill Mountain overlooking the coastal town of Blue Hill, ME. The event features varied terrain including fields of wildflowers, densely forested technical singletrack and coastal viewpoints from the summit. Profits from the event are transferred to Blue Hill Heritage Trust and Wabanaki Alliance.

Distances offered

  • 5k - Mountain Rd field, Post Office Trail out and back, up Osgood Trail to summit
  • 10k - one upper loop then a full figure-eight for two summits and descents
  • 25k - three full figure-eight loops after a shorter upper loop
  • 50k - seven full figure-eight loops

The race hub serves as the main aid station at start/finish with hydration and snacks including vegan options and a local whoopie pie. A smaller aid station at the Post Office/Osgood/Mountain Rd intersection provides water, electrolyte drink and limited snacks. There is a designated drop bag area for 25k and 50k entrants.

25k and 50k runners may use a support crew stationed at Osgood/Mountain Rd. Pacers are not allowed in any category. The event is Trail Sisters Approved and includes equal podiums and awards, women specific apparel and swag, menstrual products at aid stations, and a pregnancy and postpartum policy that allows deferral or a full refund upon request. An overnight team relay on July 24 and 25, 2026 covering about 102.7 miles from the Ellsworth area to Eastport. Teams of four to eight run legs from just under four miles to just over ten miles across trails and coastal roads.

Three trail races take place in Camden Hills State Park, offering a 50K, a 20k and a 10k across rocky singletrack and gravel trails. The event recognizes Wabanaki Nations and includes aid stations, limited entries and community support opti..

Trail races in Orland, Maine with a 6.2 mile summit route over forested single track and granite slabs, plus a 1 mile fun run to the Dead River. The event supports the Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust.
