Event Overview
The Blossom to Bottle 5K Run and 3K Walk takes place at Johnson's Orchard in Bedford, Virginia. This event serves as a fundraiser for the Bedford YMCA's Cancer program, which assists cancer patients and their families in accessing health and wellness resources. The races are held on a scenic off-road course that traverses apple fields and short gravel roads. Participants cross bridges over small streams while taking in views of the surrounding mountains.
The event offers two main participation options:
- 5K (3.1 miles) trail race
- 3K Walk (1.8 miles) walking-only event
Participants in the 5K race are chip-timed. Awards are presented to the first place overall male and female finishers, with special engraved medals going to the top three male and female participants in various age groups, ranging from 12 and under to 70 and up. There are no competitive awards for the 3K Walk.
Registration includes specific amenities such as free wine samples for the walk, as well as a campfire with s’mores and mini charcuterie boxes for attendees. Those who register by March 20, 2026, are guaranteed an event t-shirt. Families of four or more individuals living in the same household may access a registration discount.
