Bleak Midwinter Endurance Run
The Bleak Midwinter Endurance Run is a timed endurance event held on a roughly 4.15 mile loop at Sac River Mountain Bike Trails in Springfield, MO. The event offers four timed run options and uses a looped trail with permanent and temporary course markings.

The loop is moderately technical single track with rocks and roots, passing through hardwood forest and small glades. Runners follow permanent signs and temporary directional markers. Going counterclockwise, the route trends uphill during the first mile and then alternates hills, descents, and flats, with about 400 feet of elevation gain per lap. All runners begin the event running the same direction; after the first lap they may run the loop in either direction but must check in between each lap. Only completed laps recorded at check in count toward mileage.
Base Camp Pavilion at the start and finish serves as the aid station and offers food, drinks, warmth, and space for crews to set up tents. Port a potties and first aid are located at Base Camp Pavilion. Packet pickup takes place on January 23, 2027 at Sac River Mountain Bike Trails.
Registration fees are $95 for the 12 Hour, $75 for the 6 Hour, $55 for the 3 Hour, and $35 for the 1 Hour. The event proceeds support Headington Hill Classical Academy, a 501c3 organization that assists students with books, uniforms, and tuition. The race proceeds rain, snow, or shine; cancellations occur only for safety or factors beyond organizer control. Dogs are allowed on leash; no cats.
