Event status and location
The Bleak Midwinter Endurance Run for January 24, 2026 has been cancelled. Organizers cite the end of a sponsorship partnership as the reason and indicated plans to seek a new sponsor for a possible return in 2027.
The event was scheduled at Sac River Mountain Bike Trails in Springfield, MO. The park is about 300 acres with over 14 miles of interconnected single-track trail, managed by the Springfield-Greene County Park Board and part of the Ozark Greenways system. The trailhead is accessed off Highway 13, three miles north of I-44.

The course is a roughly 4.15-mile loop of moderately technical single-track with rocks and roots, hardwood forests and small glades. The loop has about 400 feet of elevation gain per lap. Runners start all in the same direction for the first lap; after that, they may run the loop in either direction. Only completed laps count for mileage, and runners must check in between laps to have laps recorded.
One aid station at the Base Camp Pavilion serves food, drinks, warmth and support. Port-a-potties and first aid are located at the pavilion, and there is space for crews to set up tents. All registered entrants were to receive event-specific swag; additional swag for 12- and 6-hour entrants and special awards for 50K (8 laps) and 50M (12 laps) finishers were planned. Registration had closed and the stated policy was that no refunds would be available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
