Event overview
Leaky Hourglass Ultra is a Last Man Standing running event held in Half Way, MO on Saturday, August 29, 2026. The format reduces the time cutoff by one minute each lap: the first lap must be completed within 60 minutes over a 4.167 mile out-and-back, then 59 minutes for the next lap, and so on until one runner completes a lap that others cannot. Registration closes Saturday, August 22. No refunds are issued; bib transfers are allowed until Saturday, August 3, 2024.
Course and logistics
The course is on a chip and sealed rural highway with rolling hills and about 250 feet of elevation gain per lap. There is one manned aid station at the start/finish and one unmanned aid station at the turnaround. The start/finish aid station supplies Tailwind Endurance Fuel, water, chips, pickles, candy bars, and other hot and cold options; the turnaround offers Tailwind, water, and prepackaged snacks. The course is not closed to traffic; runners should face traffic and must carry a headlamp and a flasher after sunset. The site allows primitive camping on Friday and Saturday night. The event is about 20 miles north of Springfield, MO, where additional lodging is available. Professional race photos will be provided free of charge by Mile 90 Photography. Dogs are permitted if leashed and kept off the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
