Leaky Hourglass Ultra

Halfway, United States • 30 Aug 2025

The Leaky Hourglass Ultra is a unique Last Man Standing ultramarathon held in Half Way, Missouri, about 20 miles north of Springfield. Participants run multiple 4.167-mile out-and-back laps on a chip-sealed rural highway featuring rolling hills and approximately 250 feet of elevation gain per lap. The twist: each lap reduces the cutoff time by one minute, starting with 60 minutes for the first lap, making the race increasingly challenging until only one runner remains.

Aid stations at the start/finish and turnaround provide fuel and snacks. The course is not closed to traffic, so runners must stay alert and use headlamps after dark. Camping is available onsite, and professional race photos are offered free. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
