Blarney Blitz - 5K Run/Walk

Blarney Blitz is a St. Patrick's Day themed 5K Run/Walk held in Peoria, Illinois. The event starts and finishes on the Riverfront Trail at the former Hooter's building and follows a course that offers views of the Illinois River. The post-race gathering takes place at Kelleher's Irish Pub & Eatery on Southwest Water Street.

The race is organized by ShaZam Racing and is part of the Peoria Holiday Race Series. Proceeds benefit Crew 309. Sponsors include Kelleher's Irish Pub, RC Outfitters, and Sunbelt Rentals.

Participants receive official 2026 Blarney Blitz race swag: a beer glass, St. Paddy's beads, one drink ticket for beer or soda, and entrance to the post-race party. Beer glasses and beads are limited to the first 640 registered participants. Packet pickup is available at RC Outfitters on the day before the race and on race day; participants may pick up packets for others.

Awards are given by finish time and by age group. Overall awards recognize the top male and top female by gun time. Age group awards are given to the top three males and top three females in these divisions: 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & Over. There will not be an awards ceremony; placed finishers should check posted results and claim awards at the results table. Awards are perishable and cannot be picked up after the event.
