Binevenagh Mountain Race 2026
The Binevenagh Mountain Race is a trail event held in Limavady, organized by Springwell Running Club. The race is part of the NIMRA league and the IMRA Ulster Championship. The course covers a distance of 10 km (6.2 miles) with a total ascent of 350 metres (1150 ft).
The route starts at the Waterfall Caves and leads participants through Ballycarton Wood. From there, the path continues along the clifftops of the mountain toward the trig point before descending back to the finish. The course is fully marked, so runners do not require a map or compass for navigation.
Specific equipment requirements are in place for all participants. Required kit includes waterproof trousers, a waterproof coat, a hat, gloves, a whistle, and trail or fell shoes. Road trainers are not permitted. Mandatory kit checks take place during the registration period at St Aidan's Church Hall. Walking poles, headphones, and earbuds are prohibited according to NIMRA guidelines.
