BigWayRound - Winchester

BigWayRound is a trail running festival around Winchester with four measured distances and a marked, marshalled course. The event starts and finishes at Winchester Rugby Club, Nuns Walk, Winchester, SO23 7EF. It is a chip-timed event with fully stocked aid stations and on-course photographers.

Runners follow a route that passes St Catherine’s Hill, Cheesefoot Head and sections of the South Downs Way, Allan King Way, St Swithun’s Way and the Itchen Way. The trail runs alongside the River Itchen and passes Avington Hall, traversing varied undulating countryside around England’s old capital.

Practical details include free parking at Winchester Rugby Club for the 50K and Marathon, and free parking at River Park Car Park for the 19 Mile and 14 Mile. Bag drop tents are available in the start and finish area. Cut off times are 4 hours for 14 miles, 5 hours for 19 miles, 7 hours for the marathon and 8 hours for the 50K. Canicross entries are not accepted.

All runners must carry at least 500 ml of fluid; hydration vests or handheld soft flasks are permitted. Runners are advised to carry appropriate clothing for changing conditions and to download the GPX route file for navigation. Single lap trail races in the Meon Valley from Queen Elizabeth Country Park offering 16 mile, marathon and 50km options with marked routes, aid stations and mandatory fluid carriage.

The Terminator 2026 is a tough but rewarding 12 mile trail race around Pewsey, Wiltshire, mostly off road with muddy climbs and high point views. All finishers receive a unique T shirt and race village treats await.

Guided 30 mile trail run from Harting Down along the South Downs Way, visiting Beacon Hill, Cocking Down and Kingley Vale. Presented as suitable for first time ultra runners, run at a group pace with practical support and route guidance.
