BigWayRound - Winchester is a trail running event centred at Winchester Rugby Club, Nuns Walk, Winchester, SO23 7EF. The event offers four distances:

The route follows local trails and paths, including the Itchen Navigation, St Catherine’s Hill, Cheesefoot Head, South Downs Way, Allan King Way, St Swithun’s Way and the Itchen Way. The course passes alongside the River Itchen and past Avington Hall. The event is chip-timed and runs in self-seeded waves.

Practical information

All runners must carry at least 500 ml of fluid. The organiser advises carrying appropriate clothing for changeable weather and recommends downloading the GPX file of the route to a watch or mobile device, because the marked course can be subject to tampering. Bag drop tents are available in the start/finish area.

Parking is provided as follows: free parking at Winchester Rugby Club for Marathon and 50K, and free parking at River Park Car Park, SO23 7DD for the 19 mile and 14 mile distances. Cut-off times are: 14 mile - 4 hours; 19 mile - 5 hours; Marathon - 7 hours; 50K - 8 hours. A tree-planting option is available in place of a finisher medal through the Trees Not Tees programme. Roly's Run is a scenic Meon Valley trail loop from Swanmore via the South Downs Way, offering 15.5 mile, 21.5 mile and a tough 40 mile option. The event is full and new entries are placed on a waiting list.
