BigWayRound - Winchester is a trail running event held on 4 May 2026 at Winchester Rugby Club, Nuns Walk, Winchester, SO23 7EF. The event uses chip timing and all distances start together in self-seeded waves based on running pace. Canicross entries are not accepted. Runners collect race bibs from the registration tent at Winchester Rugby Club.

Course and logistics

The route runs on local trails and long-distance paths around Winchester, including the Itchen Navigation, St Catherine’s Hill, Cheesefoot Head, South Downs Way, Allan King Way, St Swithun’s Way and the Itchen Way. The course passes alongside the River Itchen and near Avington Hall. The course is fully marked and marshalled and aid stations are supplied on course. A bespoke finisher medal is provided; runners may opt to have a tree planted instead of a medal through the Trees Not Tees scheme.

Parking: free parking at Winchester Rugby Club is available for Marathon and 50K entrants; 19-mile and 14-mile runners may use River Park Car Park, SO23 7DD. Bag drop tents are available in the start/finish area. Mandatory kit includes at least 500 ml of fluid; hydration vests or handheld soft flasks are permitted. Runners are advised to carry appropriate clothing and are strongly advised to download the GPX file for the route.
