The Big Kahuna 5K, 10K - San Antonio

Bigfoot Running Company stages The Big Kahuna at Southside Lions Park in San Antonio, Texas on June 20, 2026. The event uses a tropical luau theme and offers on-course aid stations, music at the start and finish areas, leis for participants, a themed photo backdrop, and a post-race tropical treat for participants.

Race options include a short Kids Dash, a 1 Mile event, a chip-timed 5K and 10K, and a virtual distance. The 1 Mile and Kids Dash are not chip timed. The 5K and 10K include age-group awards, overall male and female trophies, and masters recognition pins.

Volunteer roles and rewards are described for both event volunteers and a Volunteer then Run option. Full race volunteers receive a race shirt, VIP access, and a choice of a future race entry or a prepaid gift card. Course terrain mixes pavement, crushed granite, and some unavoidable dirt paths, and events take place in public park areas where other park users may be present.
