The Big Butt 50K is a USTAF-certified road race held annually in Lancaster, South Carolina, near the NC/SC Andrew Jackson Birthplaces. Established in 1993, the course consists of multiple loops on scenic country roads, offering a challenging yet picturesque ultramarathon experience. Runners receive T-shirts and finisher plaques, with aid stations providing water, Coke, and Gatorade approximately every six miles, plus additional water stops. The event features a welcoming atmosphere with special post-race food such as pizza and chili beans. Free camping is available nearby at Benford Brewery, including access to showers and bathrooms, enhancing the community feel of this July 4th race.
