Event overview

Blue Star Blitz takes place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Lake Haigler Entrance, 2573 Lake Haigler Drive, Fort Mill, SC. The event includes multiple trail race options and a family-oriented adventure race. Race registration is non-refundable unless a refund protection plan is purchased. Events run rain or shine unless canceled for severe weather. More than two weeks before the event, registration may be transferred at the Race Director’s discretion.

Race formats, rules and awards

  • 5K trail race
  • 10K trail race
  • 2-hour Adventure Race - approximately 10 miles, on foot
  • 4-hour Adventure Race - approximately 20 miles, mixed on foot and mountain bike

The Family Adventure Race is untimed, stays close to the Lake Haigler entrance, and uses a single scorecard per family or group; registration is per scorecard rather than per person. All family participants receive Greenway sunglasses and completed scorecards are eligible for a prize.

Common rules apply across adventure formats: teammates must stay within 100 feet of each other, racers under 13 must be accompanied by an adult, and competitors must remain on Greenway property and in designated zones. Mandatory gear includes a hydration pack or water bottle, the provided map, a compass, and a waterproof map bag (a ziplock bag is acceptable). Mountain bikes and helmets are required for the 4-hour race. Scoring ranks teams by the number of checkpoints found; ties are broken by faster time. 5K and 10K award medals and prizes to the top three overall male and female finishers, with medals three places deep in each age group.
