About the race
Channel The Holidays is a trail-to-channel mixed terrain foot race held at the Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC. The course runs through the center’s man-made channels and adjacent trails and combines natural trail surfaces with concrete channel sections that can include wet surfaces.
Distances include:
- 5K
- 1 Mile
- Kids Run (9 & under)
The course contains sudden steps, drop offs, inclines, uneven features and wet concrete surfaces. Participants are required to sign the Whitewater Center Assumption of Risk Agreement before participating; the waiver may be printed and brought to packet pick-up or completed on site and is not part of the online registration form. Registration is non-refundable. Long sleeve race shirts are guaranteed for those who pre-register on or before November 30, 2026, and hoodies are available as a registration add-on. Pre-registration for the 5K, 1 Mile and Kids Run ends December 10, 2026.
Post-race provisions included in registration feature a hot chocolate bar with toppings; a post-race breakfast menu is available at the Pumphouse Biergarten. Trails remain open to other users during the event; participants should communicate when passing others and note that no e-bikes or powered transportation are permitted. The center charges a daily parking fee and reserves the right to alter, reschedule or cancel events. In an emergency participants must call 911.
