Route

The race starts just outside Castletownbere on Derrintaggert Road, past the Old Bakery Restaurant, and follows the Beara Way walking trail. Runners follow the trail to a fire road, turn right toward Eyeries, then cross a foot-bridge and follow markers for Allihies. After crossing the second stile the route ascends Knockoura Mountain, leaves the Beara Way to reach the summit, then descends back onto the Beara Way toward Eyeries. Runners must follow markers to a forestry gate before beginning the ascent of Mish Kish mountain; a marshall will be positioned there. After Mish Kish summit the route descends west back onto the Beara Way and returns to finish at Castletownbere Town Centre. The course is an open mountain route with sea views from start to finish.
