The Cape Clear Island Races

The event takes place on Saturday 29 August 2026 on Cape Clear Island, West Cork. It is organized by OuterEdge Eire. The races use island trails and lesser-used island lanes. The island is a Gaeltacht area with a population of around 130. Routes offer views across Roaringwater Bay, toward Fastnet Rock (about 6 km west), Sherkin Island and the mainland. The entry fee includes the return ferry from Baltimore harbour to Cape Clear Island.

Entries open 18 December 2025 and close 23 August 2026. Entry fees are listed as follows: Half Marathon €105, rising to €115 from 01/05/2026; 10km €75, rising to €85 from 01/05/2026. Participants must be aged between 17 and 75 inclusive on the event date.
