Bath Two Tunnels Railway Races : August 2026

The Bath Two Tunnels Railway Races are organised by Relish Running Races at Brickfields Park in Twerton, Bath. The event uses the former Somerset and Dorset Railway corridor and includes sections through two railway tunnels, riverside paths by the Kennet and Avon Canal and a cityward stretch past Bath Abbey and Pulteney Weir.

Route and surface details include tarmac and mixed paths. The 5 km course runs through the 408 m Devonshire Tunnel into Lyncombe Vale on an out and back route. The 10 km is described as flat with a small gradient and is officially measured. Marathon and half marathon routes pass through the tunnels and countryside and enter the city.

On-course provisions and logistics include timed results, drink stations and checkpoints, first aid, finisher medals and prizes for top finishers. Note that there are no drink stations on the 5 km course, the 10 km has one aid station and the half marathon has 3 to 5 checkpoints offering water, electrolytes and snacks. Facilities at the venue include on site toilets, food and coffee vans and a bag drop. The 50 km, 10 km and 5 km races are suitable for buggy runners. Canicross runners are not permitted.
