Ballinastoe

Ballinastoe is a mountain running event based at Ballinastoe Wood, Roundwood, Co. Wicklow, grid A98PP49. The main course covers 11.00 km with a total climb of 504 m. A junior/short course of 4.70 km runs straight up to the WW BOARDWALK and back the same way.

The route is fully marked and GPS use is allowed. The event is listed in the Leinster League and is classified with difficult terrain and substantial ascent for a race over 10 km. Mandatory Level B kit must be carried and may be checked; required items are a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, a charged mobile phone with the emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag. The exact kit to be carried during the race may be finalised on the day and will be advised at registration. Failure to carry the required items may result in denial of entry or disqualification.

Entries open Monday 15th June 2026 and close Wednesday 17th June 2026. Entry fees are €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. Prize giving and spot prizes will take place at Kavanaghs in Roundwood. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
