The Ballinastoe event, organized by the Irish Mountain Running Association, takes place in Ballinastoe Wood, Roundwood, County Wicklow. The main race covers 11 kilometers with a challenging 504-meter climb, classified as difficult terrain. The route is fully marked, and GPS devices are allowed.
A shorter junior course of 4.7 kilometers follows a straightforward out-and-back path to the WW boardwalk. Participants must carry mandatory safety gear, including waterproof clothing, a whistle, and emergency supplies. The event fosters a competitive yet supportive atmosphere, with prize-giving held at Kavanaghs in Roundwood.
