Badger Challenge

The Badger Challenge is a timed trail running event held at Beacon Hill Country Park in Leicestershire. Participants can run or walk a 3.3 mile (approximately 5.3 km) off-road loop for up to six hours. The distance each person covers is flexible; they can complete as many laps as they wish within the time limit. For example, eight laps equal a marathon distance, and four laps equal a half marathon.

The course starts in the lower car park and features a distinct profile. The first half is predominantly uphill on crushed stone pathways towards a trig point, while the second half is downhill. The terrain is non-technical but can be muddy depending on the weather. The location offers extensive views.

Parking is available on-site for a fee. The nearest train station is in Loughborough, approximately six miles away. Canicross runners are welcome, provided they follow specific rules and keep dogs on short leads. A partnership with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity allows participants to optionally fundraise or donate. Instead of a finisher's medal, participants can opt for a tree token from Earth Runs, which results in a tree being planted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
