Bryre Dragon at Vogel State Park, Blairsville GA

The Bryre Dragon is a trail race weekend organized by H9 Events near Vogel State Park in Blairsville GA. The event comprises three distances that use a common loop on the Duncan Ridge corridor and nearby trails. Support locations are sited on the course and at the park, with hot food and drinks available at the group shelter and additional aid at named gaps and features.

The course framework is nearly a 40 mile lap from Vogel to Skeenah and back. It uses the Coosa Loop, the Duncan Ridge Trail, a short section of the Benton Mackaye Trail and a couple miles of Forest Service road. The route includes a river crossing on the outbound leg and uses Forest Service roads on the inbound leg to reach Burnett Gap. Trails are not highly technical by regional standards yet include considerable elevation gain.

Each race has designated cutoff points along the lap and overall time limits for completion. Volunteers receive credit toward future entries. Event notes mention heat and humidity as likely conditions and that vegetation clearing may occur before a related club event. Check in and race operations are based at the group shelter and adjacent campsite facilities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
