Event Overview

The Assault on Yonah Mountain takes place on a late September date. The event involves a timed ascent of Yonah Mountain in Cleveland, Georgia, covering approximately 2.5 miles with a 1650-foot vertical gain. Participants are only timed on the uphill journey from the bottom to the summit; the return trip to the parking area is at one's own pace. Course Details

The course starts on a gravel road and quickly becomes a steep, single-track trail. The terrain includes rocky sections, a steep gravel road, and some flatter parts. A specific overlook serves as a cutoff point. Organizers describe the trail as having rocky, technical sections where grippy trail shoes are recommended, especially in wet conditions.

Participation and Safety

The event includes a 2.5-mile run/hike and a ruck division. For the ruck division, women must carry a minimum of 15 pounds and men a minimum of 20 pounds. The total event time limit is 2 hours and 15 minutes, with an intermediate cutoff. Organizers state the event is not recommended for those who are not in shape, are elderly, or pose a fall risk.

All finishers receive a medal, with a registration deadline to guarantee one. Top three male and female finishers get a custom award. Shirts are available for separate purchase.
