The course goes from the bottom to the summit of Yonah Mountain over approximately 2.5 miles with about 1,650 feet of vertical gain. Participants are timed only for the ascent; the return to vehicles is un-timed and self-supported. The event location is listed at 420–610 Chambers Rd, Cleveland, GA 30528.

The route begins with a short paved section and a 0.3 mile climb gaining about 175 feet to the trailhead, then continues on singletrack. Organizers describe three sections: a bottom section with rocky bits and some flatter parts; a middle section with the steepest and most technical terrain including rocky stretches and a 0.1 mile section near the old helipad at roughly 35 percent grade; and a top section of about 0.75 miles at an estimated 12 to 20 percent grade that finishes in a summit field.
Safety notes state that trail shoes with good traction are recommended, parts of the route include rock gardens, and the event is not recommended for those who are out of shape, elderly, or pose a fall risk. Finishers receive a medal; to be guaranteed a medal registration must be completed by September 15. Event shirts are available for separate purchase prior to August 30 and must be picked up in person.
