Aut2Run For Autism
The Aut2Run For Autism takes place at California State University Channel Islands in Camarillo, California. This event marks the 14th anniversary of a multi-distance gathering designed to support the Autism Society Ventura County. The event features a variety of paved and trail routes across the university campus, including a dedicated 15K Hero Run where participants complete both the 10K and 5K courses. All registered finishers receive a finisher's medal and an event t-shirt.
Available distances include:
- 15K (Combined 10K and 5K results)
- 10K (Half road and half trail)
- 5K (Run or walk)
- 1 Mile (Campus loop)
- 1K Fun-K (Under 12s and adults with special needs)
- Virtual (5K distance)
The 10K course follows a mixed terrain of asphalt and dirt trails. This specific race has a strict time limit of 75 minutes. Participants who do not reach the University Park Entrance within 54 minutes are transported to the 5K junction. The 1 Mile event starts at the Central Mall and loops around the campus to finish at the South Quad. For the Fun-K, the course consists of a single loop around the South Quad, approximately a half-mile in length, and is limited to 300 participants.
For participants unable to attend in person, a virtual option is available for the 5K distance. Virtual participants can track their own distance using GPS and submit results online. All proceeds from the event support programs and advocacy for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families within the community.
