Tough Mugu

Tough Mugu is a trail running event set for July 18, 2026 at the La Jolla Group Campground in Point Mugu State Park, one mile north of 9000 E Pacific Coast Hwy in Malibu, California. The course uses coastal mountain trails in Southern California and offers coastal views along the route.

Aid stations on course are stocked with Skratch Labs hydration and the course is fully supported. Results are chip timed and finishers receive a medal and a race tee on race day. Age group and overall awards are presented at a post-race festival. The 25k carries a $2,000 cash prize for the overall men's and women's podium finishers for 2026. The event is listed as Race #2 of the Bulldog Challenge Series.

Post-race amenities include complimentary breakfast, a Beer Garden for participants 21 and older, sponsor prize raffles, and post-race sport massages offered by Vision For Enrichment.
